NEWS FROM M-TEAM:
From Mick and Rachel: "18 months on the road (with a few breaks), half of those with a baby in tow. We never planned to be here this long. In fact, we fully expected to be back in Spain four months ago (before our baby was mobile enough to need baby-proofing), but we’re still here, working to raise our support. And apparently we’re not the only ones having trouble—even veteran missionaries are facing deficit accounts and are struggling to garner the new monthly support they need to keep them on the field. We’ve had to continue to push back our leave date because we can’t get clearance to go without funding, so if you ask us when we expect to leave for Spain, the honest answer at this point is, we don’t know. We still have some $2,500 in monthly support to go, and at the rate we’ve been picking up new support it could be a year before we reach our goal."
SEND YOUR SUPPORT FOR THE M-TEAM AND HISPANIC MINISTRIES TO: The Together Way, P. O. Box 429, Hurley, MS 39555.

Just a Little Something from the desk of the Executive Secretary:
The following was given to me by one of the ladies of the Gulf Coast congregation: The story tells of a farmer's old mule who fell into the farmer's well. The farmer studied and studied on how to get the mule out of the well. He decided that the mule was old and the well needed to be fillled anyway. He called several of his neighbors to help him shovel dirt into the well. As they shoveled dirt into the well, at first the donkey was really making a fuss. Than a little later it became quiet. The farmer looked over in the well to see what had happened. The old donkey, as the dirt fell, just shook it off and stepped up on it. Soon the old donkey was able to step up out of the well and happily trotted off. That's the way I have found it works in life. Just shake off the dirt thrown on you, keep walking and you will climb higher.
In his book, Man of Influence, Jim Cote' writes what he learned from the account recorded in Luke, chapter four. Jesus experienced some initial success as he read and spoke in the Synagogue in Nazareth, but as he moved to the heart of His message, they violently rejected Him. Cote's said there were three things he saw about leadership in this account. (1) Don't let seeking approval cause you to forget your purpose and mission. Jesus never did. (2) Never allow your sense of purpose and mission be sidetracted because of intimidation. Jesus never did. (3) Don't allow criticism cause you to change your purpose and mission. Jesus never did. Have the courage to to do what you know is right to do. Regardless, stay true to the mission and purpose the Lord has left His church and never lose that vision.
